3. Little walks outside

Partner and I are taking an actual day off today, no garden digging, no study, no errands, no work, no shoulds.
It's glorious.
So an easy #3GoodThings
1. A long gym session with no rushing.
2. Reading for fun! Finishing the audio of "So I Met This Guy" (found family, romance scammers, an international caper, much fun), and starting a hardcopy of " The Big One" (yes I read about epidemiology and public health in my spare time).
3. It's raining outside, but (bonus things) I have the heater on and a pot of sweet mint tea.
1. I mostly managed to relax today!

2. Ordered 18000 seed beads to make a really cool necklace that I saw and haven't been able to stop thinking about.
3. Library trip! Got my new books and chatted with the librarian about the pattern drafting book I was returning.
1. Saw a cardinal in the yard.
2. Josh Johnson's latest video made me laugh.
3. The primary results in Michigan gave me hope.
- gas pump attendant alerts us to a flat tire that we had somehow not noticed
- attendant also provides coinage for their nearby air pump, to attempt to reinflate the tire
- the tire held the air, the leak was slow, and we were able to drive it to our mechanic, who finds a nail, a broken seal, and a leaky valve that he fixes the same day, despite his super busy schedule
1. I got to talk to my dear young Iranian friend for almost an hour yesterday. It was such a joy to see her lovely face and hear her reassuring me that she and her family really are okay.

Simple pleasures.
#bloomScrolling #EllieKPosts #bees #wildflowers #simplepleasure #3GoodThings

2. We moved a piece of furniture from the kids' room to my husband's room, and it suits the new spot much better 🪜
3. One step closer to getting rats, with the furniture plan underway and the decluttering continuing 🐀
Three good things:
-> After watching the film We Are Pat yesterday on Kanopy (thank you local library!), I've arrived at further levels of understanding the breadth of my agenderness. It's more profound than even I expected, and I'd been building up to certain aspects for decades more subconsciously than I realized. This is a very good thing! 😊
-> I thought we were losing one direction of bus service by my home with an upcoming service change. Very gratefully, that is not the case; the service change sign was just poorly written.
-> On the bus today, the bus driver was playing music, as they do. What should fully play at great volume throughout the cabin but Frankie Goes To Hollywood's Relax. Imagine that, in a fairly conservative city! 😀
@3goodthings #3GoodThings #Agender #PublicTransportation #FrankieGoesToHollywood

3. Blood oranges
#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings from Sunday:
Took part in a neighbourhood music jam. Lots of Beatles, some Grateful Dead, some songs that were new to me. MUCH more fun than when I tried last year, not knowing more than 4 chords. This time even managed to bring out an attempt at tremolo on the #mandolin when we played "Ripple".
Marked the August harvest with homemade corn muffins (with sweet corn mixed in) and the first beefsteak tomatoes from my deck garden. Yum!
And my sweetie, who inadvertently ate something that has given him fevers and shaking chills in the past, did not have the horrid reaction we were afraid of. Maybe anti-inflammatories and antihistamines helped. Don't want to try again to collect more data!
Three good things for the weekend past.
1. Saw several friends via book club, Ruxmon, and a social things. That was lovely.
2. Many garden tasks are complete, and the big effort is underway. Soon I will get to plant trees.
3. While I was only useful for watching in case of emergency, I got some of a uni assignment done (sitting outside, with earmuffs on, hooray for WiFi and laptops).
Go go go !

- Received a phone call with "news" that will completely change my working life. Could be anything. Haven't told anyone. No one knows. All very hush hush and top secret.
- Rang the dentist yesterday and they gave me an appointment today. He poked around *a lot*, told me everything looked fine and recommended a sensitive toothpaste. The whole appointment cost me £4. FOUR POUNDS. That's like 50p in real money. I hope he never retires.

Modern plumbing is wonderful, and we take it so much for granted--until something goes wrong. So today, we're thankful for:
♡ A competent plumber who arrives quickly, works swiftly, and flexes to meet homeowner needs.
◇ Having resources to pay said plumber without going into debt.
♤ Marveling at new, modern plumbing fixtures that replace crusty, grody, eroded old fixtures.
♧ Being showered, shaved, and shampooed after too many days of no shower/tub water.
Water=1st world privilege.
1. Got some good feedback and praise from the artist that I've been working for RE: some of the admin work I've been doing for him.
2. Drafted a custom underbust corset pattern. Step 1 to launching my couture corset company!
3. Made 6 lasagnas for the freezer and 1 for dinner.
• Unforecast sun today meant the solar batteries stayed charged up for me to use the wifi for an online class without worrying about leaving enough juice for the friend whose house it is, who arrives tonight for his spring visit.
• Cleaning and tidying was less stressful than I feared; in fact I’m very pleased with the final result, complete with finishing touches that will make for delightful little surprises.
• It’s good to be home for the bulk of the next three weeks, where I can actually put things away and cozy in with my altars and home critters (including a buck!—and a junco who was obsessed with the junco in the mirror).
le champ des possibles est infini (ou presque)
Bon dimanche, prennez soin de vous et aujourd'hui surtout : faites vous plaisir !

3. Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar
1. Finished 90% of the second costume for the commission. Tomorrow will see some small finishing details and then it'll be done!
2. Hubby and son did an incredible job organizing the bedroom to have room for me to permanently set up my sewing stuff. I didn't think it was possible but they did it!
3. Someone has ordered another commission for a costume. This one with no deadline which is perfect.
1. Sunny day
2. Hubby is going to wrangle kiddo to carve out some space for me to keep my sewing machines permanently accessible

#3GoodThings from yesterday
📡 I successfully carried out my first #mesh experiment - communicating with my friend @stereo in Germany... some 400km away!!! It only took 6 hops - including the iconic Jungfraujoch radio relay station
🍀 I found my second 4-leaf clover in a field near a bike track - when I took my little one biking
🐑 on our way home we stumbled upon a flock of sheep - it was fascinating to see a couple of adorable Border Collies in action herding them
Hello there...every day that I use Mastodon, I like to list three things that I like as a contribution towards a positive online space, as well as my own headspace. If you did this today, what would feature on your list?
01. Someone came to my house yesterday with a gift of whisky, crisps, and chocolate
02. I started reading "Wolf Hall" (it's really great)
03. I listened to an LP by Frank Sidebottom
Hope you can have a nice day today x

Noisy storm last night. If there was a tornado warning, we didn't hear it.
I did hear howling wind and sideways rain.
Peeked outside and the trees are still standing. No big branches down, either. Too dark to see much out there.
We lucked out with the power again (we usually do).
Good thing Mr L brought his vegetable plants in from the porch - they'd be goners.
I hope those of you North of us don't have flooding or damage.
Hey, that counts as 3 good things, right?
