#Murena, c'est assez facile d'accès, vous créez votre compte, vous avez accès a un email, un espace de stockage avec #onlyoffice et différents outils #Nextcloud tels que Notes, Tâches, Galerie, Agenda, etc
Pour 20€/an vous avez 20GB de stockage partagé entre tous ces services. Tout est assez fluide, le mail se configure automatiquement sur #Thunderbird (bureau et mobile), il y a juste DAVx5 a télécharger pour la synchronisation des calendriers sur #Android. Avec #Zaclys, vous avez accès a quelques services #Nextcloud supplémentaires, tels que Recettes, Musique, un blog, etc. Pour 32€/an (12€+20€ pour #OnlyOffice) vous avez 80GB de stockage partagé entre les différents services. Par contre :
1. Il faut pleins de comptes, un pour Zaclys, un pour le mail, un autre pour le cloud...
2. Il faut se créer un alias de mail, sinon on se retrouve avec l'adresse par défaut qui est une suite de chiffres@zaclys.net.

Da ich gestern auch auf #SelfHosting angesprochen wurde...

Nicht jeder hat die Möglichkeit oder das Interesse an SelfHosting. Aber wenn man es "kann" und sich ein wenig unabhängiger machen möchte - es gibt viele Möglichkeiten!

Kleines persönliches Beispiel von mir:

Angefangen hatte ich mit einem ausgedienten Raspberry, auf der ich Nextcloud installierte. Mittlerweile - mit mehreren Zwischenstationen - steht bei mir daheim mit allen selbstgehosteten Diensten ein ausgedienter, gebrauchter Lenovo ThinkCentre, den ich letztes Jahr geschenkt bekommen hatte. Da wir noch eine dazu passende CPU hatten, bekam der ThinkCentre ein feines Upgrade auf einen i7. 😁

Darauf installiert ist Debian in der Minimal-Konfiguration und - weil ich es mir einfach machen wollte - Docker. Darüber habe ich u.a. installiert:

• #BookStack (dient mir als mein persönliches Server-Verwaltungs-Logbuch)
• #Glance (Dashboard)
• #Heimdall (Dashboard)
• #Homarr (Dashboard)
• #Immich (Foto-Verwaltung und Backup, ähnlich Google Photos)
• #Jellyfin (Media Center)
• #Joplin (Umfangreiche Notizen-App)
• #Linkwarden (Bookmark-Verwaltung)
• #Mealie (Rezepte-Verwaltung)
• #OpenCloud (Backup-Cloud für Dateien aller Art, inkl. selbsgehosteten Office, Markdown und mehr)
• #Organizr (Dashboard)
• #SearXNG (Umfangreiche Suchmaschine)
• #Vaultwarden (Passwort-Verwaltung)
• #WordPress (Blogging-Software)

Zusätzlich werkelt darauf auch noch eine #Nextcloud, allerdings nicht über Docker installiert. Ein #Minecraft-Server ist darauf ebenfalls installiert sowie ein #Emulator zum zocken. 😎

Das alles nutze ich mal mehr, mal weniger.

Gerade bezüglich der Suchmaschine SearXNG war ich erst echt skeptisch. Aber ich nutze diese nun schon über ein Jahr und bin sehr, sehr zufrieden damit. Die Ergebnisse sind nicht - wie bei Google z.B. - voll mit zusammengefassten KI-Ergebnissen, die kein Mensch sehen möchte, sondern mit "echten" Ergebnissen.

Meine Fotos landen allesamt bei Immich - eine wundervolle Software, die ich gerne nutze. Auch die OpenCloud, deren Anfänge ich miterleben durfte, hat sich sehr etabliert und ist für meine gesamten Daten absolute Nummer 1 bei mir, da sie schnell und zügig lädt und Collabora Online als #selbstgehostete #Office-Lösung integriert hat.

Auch Bookstack finde ich super nützlich. Wenn ich Änderungen an der Konfiguration der Server vornehme, trage ich diese Änderungen mit Datum und Uhrzeit hier ein und kann später so nachsehen, was ich wann geändert habe. Ebenso habe ich mir in Bookstack Anleitungen hinterlegt, tägliche Checks, die ich auf den Servern durchführe und weitere Dinge, die ich einfach nur schnell per Copy & Paste ins Terminal einfügen kann.

Am Lenovo ThinkCentre angeschlossen habe ich 3 2,5 Zoll HDDs.

Thema Sicherheit: Das alles ist nur für mich in meinem lokalen Netzwerk erreichbar. Ausschließlich. Zusätzlich ist der Login abgesichert mittels #Yubikey (ein kleiner, physischer Hardware-Sicherheitsschlüssel).

Trotz all dieser Maßnahmen bin ich nach wie vor noch an einige Dinge gebunden. So nutze ich z.B. Proton. Auch habe ich meine persönliche Daten an mehreren Stellen als Backup hinterlegt, auch online, nicht nur bei mir selbstgehostet daheim.

Wer technisches Interesse und Verständnis hat, kann also auch diesen Schritt gehen und ein wenig unabhängiger werden, um von Google und Co. wegzukommen.

Und wer noch einen Schritt weitergehen möchte, kann natürlich auch seine ganz eigenes Mastodon, Friendica o.ä. auf seinem Heimserver installieren - auch das ist gut umsetzbar. So kann man sich noch einen Schritt unabhängiger machen. Die Möglichkeiten, digital unabhängiger zu werden sind groß - man muss es nur umsetzen! 😉

I've run it towards my own valuable data for a few days (with an extra backup made beforehand) and so far it looks ok - but I'm only one user on one Linux system.

No changes to Nextcloud needed - it mainly uses the existing webdav APIs.

#Nextcloud have tagged rc1 of the new version of their desktop client. I've built it.

I'm hoping my #OpenSUSE #Tumbleweed #Wayland #KDE Plasma installation is an outlier. The current version of the client just shows a black main window. This new rc1 does the same.

From LLM-assisted debugging I've figured out that it's the qml windows that just render as completely black - all other dialogs etc are fine. It's also not a general qml issue - my own test apps renders without issues.

... but if it's not just my machine it would probably be good to know. Not being able to see anything in the main window makes it difficult to sort out sync issues.

Mon kif du jour : Ma dégafamisation

On accepte le confort des GAFMA sans trop se poser de questions, et l'enfermement se fait de manière très insidieuse. Entre la montée incontrôlée de l'IA et le techno-totalitarisme qui se profile aux USA, on se sent vite impuissant face au système.

À mon échelle, j'ai décidé de reprendre le contrôle avec des actes concrets :

Mon téléphone tourne sous /e/OS : fini Google dans ma poche.
Mon cloud est sur un serveur Nextcloud : mes données restent à moi.
Mon mail est chez Proton : une boîte sécurisée et chiffrée.

Alors oui, pour être honnête, tout n'est pas tout rose tous les jours. Parfois, il faut bidouiller un peu, accepter de perdre une minute pour un truc qui prenait trois secondes sur un système propriétaire, ou trouver des alternatives pour certaines applis.

Mais c'est le prix à payer pour sortir de la cage dorée des GAFAM. Mais franchement, quand on met ça en balance avec notre liberté numérique, le sacrifice est minime et on s'y fait très vite.

Sucks that the lead maintainer closed the issue as 'solved' without addressing the lack of proper encryption and that he suggested to 'continue the drama on Discord' as he put it.

So, is this issue — the lack of encryption of the Joplin password in the Linux SQLite app that you discovered — still open?

Le #matin j'utilise le réveil de mon ordiphone Google.
Il fait une aube lumineuse pendant 15 minutes, sonne, me donne la date et l'heure, la météo, puis "il n'y a pas de tâches pour aujourd'hui" avant de me souhaiter une journée fantastique et d'enchaîner sur la rediffusion du journal de RFI.

J'aimerais bien une alternative libre ou alors un moyen que mes tâches et bidules de l'application des tâches et l'agenda #nextcloud soient énumérés le matin au réveil.

Je suis en train de tester la migration de mon compte Google. C'est long, car j'utilise beaucoup les service drive de Google en particulier le #GoogleDrive (Docs et Sheet) et #GoogleKeep donc je veux tout tester avant. Je vais profiter de ce thread pour donner mes retours d'expérience.
J'ai un compte perso et un compte partagé. Pour mon compte perso, qui est celui avec lequel je synchronise mon téléphone, j'ai souscrit a un workspace @murena, qui est basé sur @nextcloud, car je compte installer /e/OS dessus.

La moitié des tuiles Street map sont bloquées, et impossible de rechercher une adresse ou calculer un itinéraire, ni même de créer des favorie... :/

Alors maybe c'est un problème de compatibilité de version avec nextcloud, je sais pas... mais en attendant c'est assez useless.

Many moons ago, owncloud split from #nextcloud and I went with Nextcloud. Before that happened, though, apparently I created an account on the owncloud discourse forums. Recently they floated the idea of shutting down the discourse and moving to GitHub discussions.

That’s right: a product firmly rooted in #selfhosting is thinking about using the cloud instead. They asked for comments and I apparently had just enough reputation (read: >0) to be invited to comment. One of the questions they asked is effectively “what are we giving up?”

My reply was “availability”. #GitHub availability is so bad they don’t even share the numbers any more. It’s something like 87.8% for the last 90 days.

To put that in context: if a web site can run at 99.0% availability for 11 months out of the year, then shut down and turn off entirely for the month of February, they would have 91.4% uptime for the year (by my reckoning). Anybody running in their garage can do better than that!

So how is moving to GitHub anything but a step down? And an irrational step at that.

Hmmm. Turns out my #NextCloud has #Collabora - but not the required CODE server. So the only way to demo it is to use the slow demo server.
Looks OK - but I find it baffling when Open Source projects don't have lots of demo screenshots or demo sites to play with.
No one is randomly installing a few GB of stuff just to have a play.

Are there any #Nextcloud #Forms power users on here? There does not seem to be a dedicated support or community forum for Forms, just the GitHub page, and when a regular user asks a question on a GitHub page they tend to be immediately attacked basically for not being a programmer.
I have new questions about Forms on a regular basis, but what I want to know right now is if it's possible to reference data in a separate workbook. This is not hard in most #spreadsheet apps, including #LibreCalc.

I had noticed since upgrading to #Nextcloud 33 that when I would open a folder of images for the first time since upgrading, MariaDB would use quite a lot of CPU time and Nextcloud would stop responding for several minutes until it finished whatever it was doing. Turns out the issue was something to do with the image preview store. To fix it I just ran:

sudo -u www-data php occ preview:cleanup -vvv

This cleans up the stored previews and seems to have fixed my issue.

Ce qu’il y a de bien avec NextCloud, c’est que la suite bureautique en ligne adoptée est Collabora Online, un avatar de LibreOffice et donc une suite bureautique dont le format natif est le format ODF.

Sauf que… on peut configurer le format d’enregistrement par défaut des suites bureautiques. Et là les gros nuages s’accumulent. Les personnes qui s’occupent de Collabora Online dans NextCloud ont décidé, malgré tous les arguments qui leur ont été fournis, que le format d’enregistrement proposé par défaut devait être OOXML.

Since the NextCloud Office maintainers have not taken into account the arguments against their decision to use Microsoft OOXML as the default format, I submitted a pull request with code that sets OpenDocument as the default format:

Comme les mainteneurs de NextCloud Office n'ont pas prêté attention aux arguments contre leur décision d'utiliser Microsoft-OOXML comme format par défaut, j'ai fait une pull-request avec le code qui permet d'avoir le format OpenDocument par défaut :

I would recommand a #yunohost + #nextcloud app on a raspberry 5 with an external ssd and an hdd to another computer for backups.
If multiple members of the family want to join and have there own home, i would recommand to acquire each a raspberry pi and do ciphered backups using borg apps to othet member of family.

On est en 2026 et je me demande s’il est possible de synchroniser mes contacts entre deux services !!! 🤔🤔

En deux mots, j’ai mes emails chez #Fastmail (ça pourrait être n’importe quel autre service) et j’ai mes données chez #Nextcloud, y compris mes contacts.

J’ai déjà synchronisé Nextcloud avec l’appli Contact sur #Android, et avec #Thunderbird sur #Linux, et je sais que je peux faire facilement pareil pour Fastmail.

Ce que je veux faire c’est de synchroniser directement Fastmail et Nextcloud pour avoir une seule source de donnée à gérer, et éviter les duplications des contact.

Mais je ne trouve rien qui me permet de croire que c’est possible !! ?? 

Est-ce que vous avez déjà essayé ça ? 🤓 Et réussi ??? 🤩

@Ysabeau effectivement mon cas est un peu plus complexe.

Une des principales raison c’est j’aime bien avoir mes œufs dans différents paniers, et donc mes emails chez #fastmail et mes contacts chez #zaclys sur #nextcloud.

D’ailleurs, la synchronisation des agendas marche bien entre les deux, alors je ne vois pas pourquoi ça serait pas possible pour les contacts !?!?!

Après OnlyOffice, c’est au tour de l’application « NextCloud Office » de miser par défaut sur le format de document que Microsoft contrôle.

Les mots me manquent pour expliquer à quel point c’est une connerie, alors que NextCloud Office est excellent pour d’édition en ligne.

Mais heureusement, LibreOffice (ici traduit/expliqué par Clubic) avait déjà fait le point sur la question ↴

Sachez-le : l'appli #richdocuments de #Nextcloud, c'est-à-dire l'app qui permet de connecter un serveur #Collabora Online, utilise maintenant #OOXML comme format par défaut. C'est-à-dire le .docx, .xlsx, etc.
Pour revenir au format #OpenDocument (format libre, .odt, .ods, etc) par défaut, il faut décocher une case dans les paramètres de l'application.

Tout est fonctionnel, je suis bien content #autohebergement.

Quand même foufou cette décision de #Owncloud de maintenir leur propre version de PHP7.4 pour ne pas passer à PHP8+.
Le process de migration vers #Nextcloud, même d'une version pas à jour depuis 3 ans a été longue mais très propre et sans aucun bug, et ça, c'est super.
On est encore en train de tester que tout ce qu'il faut est là mais normalement, on est pas mal du tout.

I think I'm giving up on this install of Yuno Host. Too many things have gone wrong during my leading bash etc.

A friend wants me to try Proxmox, so I'll do that. Another potential one is Freedombox.

So we'll see.

I'd love if there was one that sat on top of a regular distro of Linux with a GUI. I think that'd really help me. Haven't found one yet though.

Sag ich seit Jahren. Im Vergleich zu #owncloud Infinite Scale #ocis oder #opencloud schneidet #nextcloud ganz schlecht ab. Aber gut, dass es das Windows der #opensource welt gibt, dadurch kommen viel in Kontakt mit #linux und #OSS. Aber es ginge so viel besser.

I did upgrade an old #nextcloud 26 version using yunohost webinterface app upgrade.

And it went smoothly.

I would have done that manually that, i would have had to get to all major versions one by one, since it is the way #nextcloud upgrade works.

So it was done within ten minutes. Really a banger !

C'est indiqué dans l'application run script de nextcloud, mais j'avais espéré que cela n'affecte que la manipulation des fichiers. non cela gêne les notifications complètement...

pourtant d'autres application de flux fonctionnent avec le chiffrement et les même événements...

Si par hasard vous avez une idée pour désactiver totalement le lecteur vidéo intégré à NextCloud, je suis preneur.
(j'ai essayé l'astuce de virer les "video/..." du fichier de config MIME, ça n'a pas suffit.)

EDIT: J'ai trouvé !
- Modifier le fichier core/shipped.json : retirer "viewer" de la section "alwaysEnabled".
- L'application va alors apparaître dans la liste des applications : l'admin peut alors la désactiver.

J'ai décidé de selfhoster un agrégateur #rss sur mon #nextcloud ou mon #yunohost
J'aimerai le coupler avec un client android, si possible depuis #fdroid ou sinon que l'app soit clean.

J'ai testé news pour nextcloud mais l'affichage ne me va pas du tout.

Tu utilises toi comme solution toi ?

Le repouet aide à me garder informé et à jouer avec #mobilizon

... pour l'instant je n'ai trouvé qu'un moyen intermédiaire qui est de supprimer automatiquement le lien de partage via l'application download_limits qui est maintenant intégrée par défaut dans nextcloud.

Mais pour supprimer le fichier ... je sêche.

J'ai posté sur le forum nextcloud (https://help.nextcloud.com/t/workflow-or-plugin-for-deleting-files-after-download/138972/7) et sur le canal de chat dev ...
