Bubbs has been recovering from his surgery quite well. We take the cone off when we can closely watch him. Sutures come out this week and hopefully we can get him back to his normal routine instead of be sequestered in a room and a hallway all night long.

While jogging yesterday I saw something scurrying around in the grass on the side of the road, so I stopped to take a look and a little kitten face popped out and meowed at me. So I brought it home and now it is in my room. It has been eating a lot, and doesn't appear injured or sick.

Mes parents disent que leurs #chats se lèvent et les réveillent à heures fixes le matin.
Chez moi c'est l'inverse, dans la plupart des cas, Kimy attend qu'on se lève. Bruits de pas, portes qui s'ouvrent, robinet de la salle de bain qui coule, sont les indications qui lui disent qu'elle doit se lever à son tour, qu'il soit 5 ou 10 heures du matin.

Le titre original en anglais est meilleur 'Rest is resistance. A manifesto', en gros il faut se reposer comme acte de résistance active à la broyeuse capitaliste qui nous pousse à l'épuisement permanent. Tricia Hersey est une artiste, théologienne et activiste afroaméricaine.
Je trouve la traduction très bien écrite (bon, le titre a dû être imposé par la maison d'édition)

#Merlin jumped onto my lap while I was sitting after dinner talking with Spouse, and then decided the right way to settle down was to stand with his back legs on my leg and his front legs on my arm. He held that position for quite a while. It was not comfortable, but these are the sacrifices we make for our #CatsOfMastodon.

Anyone in my area (St Louis, MO) in need of a friendly cat? This guy followed our daughter to the front door last night. I posted his info and have searched missing cats but haven't had any luck. I'll let the post stay up for a few days but I know how these things go. He's been living under cars as that's where he went last night.
We already have 4 cats or I'd gladly give him a home. I'm not sure we'd be the right environment at this point.

Can recommend the Laucke #CWA scone mix. Small donation goes to the Country Women's Association of South Australia, all I had to measure out was water, my girlfriend was delighted and so was the cat. 10/10.
The box says "Makes delicious 20 large scones", and I got 18 out of the first batch using half the mix. I guess I could've picked a bigger cutter, but these were good as bite-size snacks.
