After 15 years with us, Chewbacca (usually shortened to “bacca”, not “chewie”) died yesterday. We’ve known since last fall that he didn’t have much time left. I’m glad he made it to summer, though, so he could go outside and find a peaceful shady place to lie down for the last time. He may have been the best cat I’ve ever owned. When my kids were little, they would manhandle him and he never got mad or scratched them. He was incredibly friendly, but also a big clumsy goofball. #catsofmastodon

Thor had a very stressful day because there were thunderstorms. Ironically, Thor is scared of thunder.
It took me forever to find him because he is not usually allowed in the bathroom by himself. But I left the door open and he decided between the bathtub and the toilet was the safest place to be.
He is doing a lot better now that the storms have passed.

Dans la rubrique des #adaptations, je cherche des moustiquaires pour mettre sur mes fenêtres et porte-fenêtres la nuit. Mon idée, c'est de pouvoir aérer la nuit sans avoir besoin de fermet les volets dans toutes les pièces pour faire mieux circuler l'air. Mais j'ai un #chat, qui a une joyeuse tendance à roupiller ou sauter sur les rebords de fenêtres quand j'ai le dos tourné — ou en l'occurrence, les yeux fermés. 😴
J'aimerais un dispositif sans perçage, qui puisse se démonter quand ce n'est plus l'été. Est-ce que vous savez où je peux trouver ?

LA QUESTION : Est-ce que vous avez des recos de croquettes qui sont vraiment IRRÉSISTIBLES pour un chat difficile ?
Il aime les croquettes pour chaton qu'on utilise en friandises, il en mangerait des poignées... mais y a trop de minéraux dedans, surtout pour un chat mâle un peu âgé. (Je lui en donne mais seulement un peu)
LE DÉTAIL : un de nos chats est devenu Difficile en terme de nourriture. Il a faim, mais boude ses croquettes.
Il aimait beaucoup ses croquettes avant, mais il s'est mis à les bouder peu à peu avec ses allergies et le nez un peu bouché, et même si elles sont sous contrôle maintenant, il ne les a pas vraiment réadoptées. Il finira par les manger mais seulement affamé, et très peu. Mettre des choses Délicieuses sur ses croquettes ne fonctionne pas, il trie. Pareil pour le mélange avec des friandises.
Il mange les choses Délicieuses (les friandises aucun souci, on a aussi testé les sardines et le thon à l'huile et le steak haché et ce genre de trucs...). Il mange en petites quantités mais régulièrement. Parfois il faut insister un peu/lui présenter plusieurs fois ceci dit.
J'ai essayé des pâtées de diverses marques/types, soit il n'est pas intéressé du tout soit il le lèche un peu et c'est tout, SAUF si on le mixe (au mixer plongeant) à parts égales avec une chose Délicieuse (la plupart du temps, des sardines à l'huile). Parfois il aime un truc un moment et ensuite se met à bouder. J'ai pas encore essayé de mixer ses croquettes ramollies avec de la sardine, je teste aujourd'hui.
Donc : on lui donne des choses Délicieuses, qu'il mange, pour le remplumer. (Il a pas mal maigri. Oui on a vu un véto, et a priori ça va, il est vif en dehors de ça...mais il devrait vraiment manger plus que ça. On y retourne cette semaine pour vérifier des trucs quand-même)
Sauf que mixer un aliment complet avec un truc très gras et protéiné et assez riche en minéraux c'est .... plus une alimentation très équilibrée.
C'est pas affreux mais bon.
Et aussi il a tendance à avoir un peu de tartre et j'essaie de l'habituer au brossage mais c'est euh, long.
Du coup des croquettes c'est mieux (il a des friandises pour les dents aussi, ça aide un peu, mais en ce moment il mange surtout mou).
Je veux bien faire des tests mais y a tellement de marketing dans tous les sens... donc si vous avez des recommandations de nourriture complète de bonne qualité (ou en tout cas pas affreuse sur qqs mois) et absolument irrésistible (et toute prête, si on peut éviter les repas faits maison ça serait pratique).
Idéalement croquettes.

I am grieving and mourning. Arty was my first cat. I only had him 10 months. He was a rescue. Maybe 2-3 years old. Tonight he suddenly fell over and died. I am beside myself. Probably cardio myopathy according to the vet. He was the perfect little kitty cat. Everything I wanted in a cat and nothing I didn’t. Cuddle your kitties close tonight. You never know how many days you have.

One of my friends has a litter of (surprise!) kittens. She also has a 1 year old Maine Coone called Bear and the kittens absolutely love him and the feeling is clearly mutual.
