Fun personal fact: First time I tried to install Linux, I downloaded and burned Fedora *source* isos which didn't work (5 discs, IIRC). I then successfully downloaded and installed DEBIAN (only 1 disc), but got a command line prompt. After testing every DOS/NT command I knew, I never got a GUI, so I went back and burned the proper Fedora Core installer (another 5 discs).
In an alternative reality, I would have been a Debian loyalist.

If you're running Nextcloud on top of Apache2 on Debian 12 server and after upgrading to Debian 13 server it refuses to start up again, do the following:
a2dismod php8.2
a2enmod php8.4
systemctl restart apache2
At least that was what I needed to do.

J'essaie de transférer sur mon murena /e/os mes CD stockés.
Ils sont pour l'instant stockés sur HDD externe accessible via firewire, auquel j'accède traditionnellement via mon vieux mac mini de 2010 + NAS connecté en USB.
Pas possible de détecter le murena par le mac mini en USB.
Pas possible d'accéder au firewire via mon portable win.
MAIS j'ai aussi Ubuntu sur mon portable.
Gentils linuxiens, pourriez-vous svp m'aider à trouver la commande pour accéder au HDD externe connecté à Ubuntu via le NAS ?

Une annonce pour des cours d'informatique pour apprendre à utiliser Linux :
en ligne avec GOOGLE MEET et contact par WHATSAPP
✨💻 Aujourd’hui, mission accomplie : j’ai donné une seconde vie à un Acer Aspire V3-571G trouvé à petit prix 🛒 (45€).
J’y ai ajouté un SSD 128 Go (12€), installé Linux Mint XFCE 🐧… et maintenant il démarre au quart de tour ⚡.
🔧 En bonus : je me suis formé au démontage (vis cachées, nappes fragiles, clips récalcitrants).
Résultat : je n’ai plus peur d’ouvrir un portable 💪
Et ce vieux i5 tourne parfaitement, prêt pour la bureautique, le web et même un peu de montage vidéo 🎬.
♻️ Preuve qu’avec un peu de temps et quelques euros, on peut sauver du matériel de l’oubli ! Direction la salle des profs ! ❤️ #Reconditionnement #Linux #Libre #Bricolage #Education #NIRD

Things I should to in a ideal world[1]:
Set up a job that reports the diff from "make olddefconfig" for each #Linux-next release to me – and then check the differences for #kernel features that get turned of due to CONFIG renames or things like that.
The goal: catch and report such issue so they can be reported and fixed before they hit mainline, as they cause regressions for users and testers.

Je viens de me rendre compte que j'avais oublié de mettre le répertoire de torrents de mon NAS en NOCOW. Duh.
Correction:
- fermer le client torrent.
- créer un répertoire vide, le mettre en NOCOW (chattr +C nouveau)
- copier l'ancien répertoire dedans (cp -r -v --reflink=never ancien nouveau) (sinon ça gardera les blocs de données qui sont déjà en mode CoW)
Comment installer et utiliser #ADB (Android Debug Bridge, sous #Linux uniquement) pour installer ou désinstaller des applications, y compris les apps constructeur - et c'est tout l'intérêt, ou accéder à l'écran du tél. sur votre PC.

Le logiciel de la gendarmerie est sous logiciel libre et fonctionne très bien.
La gendarmerie nationale a migré à l'échelle sous #Linux avec sa distribution Gendbuntu.
Dans les établissements scolaires, un juste rééquilibrage des logiciels permettra de réduire les coûts de façon drastique pour les collectivités.

I got back to #WebIDAMd, a #systemd-userdbd-based system for using #OAuth / #OIDC / #REST identity providers for #Linux system authentication.

In contrast to #sssd's recent OIDC module, WebIDAMd is fully provider-agnostic and integrates transparently with userdbd, the current/upcoming standard in most Linux distributions instead of requiring a full separate software stack.

PSA: never write "broken in #linux 6.15.3 and later"; instead specify which later versions you tested and turned out to be affected, too.
That will enable people that look into the bug to immediately see if it might be a 6.15.y specific problem or affects newer stable series (e.g. 6.16.y) as well?
It's also important to to determine if the problem only affected stable trees, or occurs in mainline (e.g. 6.17-rc1), too – which is important, as for the #kernel it often determines who is responsible.
Not to mention that "and later" becomes wrong once the issue is fixed. 😆
